World Cup Visa Scandal: NSA Sports Ministry scandal different from Australia 2018 - Hadzide
Former Deputy Sports Minister Pius Enam Hadzide says the controversy surrounding Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup visa arrangements differs from the 2018 Australia visa affair that led to his suspension. Speaking on JoyNews’ PM Express, Hadzide argued that the current controversy involves accounts of payments by prospective travellers and official correspondence that warrant scrutiny. He maintains that no evidence has been publicly established linking him to payments in the 2018 case and is calling for greater clarity on the episode. The current World Cup visa controversy involves allegations that officials collected more than US$623,000 from prospective travellers for visa assistance. The National Sports Authority’s Director-General, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, was suspended pending investigations, while the Sports Ministry has denied wrongdoing. The allegations remain under investigation. #AMSports #AMShow
