Ghana's Religious Diversity: Mahama pledges fairness, calls for peaceful coexistence among Ghanaians

President John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed his commitment to treating all Ghanaians fairly, regardless of their religious beliefs, calling for peaceful coexistence and mutual respect among people of different faiths. Speaking at the 10th Triennial Congress of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship in Accra on October 14, 2026, President Mahama stressed that his constitutional responsibility requires him to serve Christians, Muslims, traditional religious practitioners, and citizens who profess no religion equally. The President described Ghana's religious diversity as a valuable national asset that must be protected. Drawing on his experience growing up in a multi-faith family, he urged Ghanaians to strengthen relationships across religious boundaries and promote unity. He also encouraged churches to champion honesty, compassion, responsible citizenship and peace while speaking out against injustice and suffering. #NewsDesk
