Money FAQs

How much is $1 in cedis today?

The table and converter above show the latest mid-market rate, refreshed every few hours. Banks, forex bureaus and MoMo agents add their own margin, so expect to pay slightly more when buying dollars.

What is the difference between the Bank of Ghana rate and the market rate?

The Bank of Ghana publishes an official indicative rate each day, while forex bureaus and banks trade at their own buy/sell prices around it. For large transfers, compare at least two bureaus — small differences per dollar add up fast.

Is there still e-levy on mobile money transfers?

The e-levy on electronic transfers was scrapped in 2025. Only your network’s transfer fee (typically around 1%, capped) applies — the MoMo calculator above defaults the levy field to 0% so you can adjust if any charge returns.
