Emergency FAQs
What is Ghana’s emergency number?
112 — a single national emergency number that works across all mobile networks for police, fire and ambulance. Save it in every phone in your household.
What should I say when I call 112?
Stay calm and give four things: what happened, exactly where you are (landmarks help), how many people are hurt, and a callback number. Don’t hang up until the operator says so.
Which hospital should I go to in an emergency?
The nearest major facility: Korle Bu or 37 Military in Accra, Komfo Anokye in Kumasi, Tamale Teaching in the north. For serious trauma, teaching and military hospitals have the best emergency capacity.
