Nkaseim residents resist alleged attempts to take over community mining site

File photo of galamsey activities The chiefs and people of Nkaseim in the Asutifi South District have cautioned all individuals to stay away from a community mining concession that is set to be officially launched under a cooperative mining arrangement.

Following renewed appeals by traditional leaders through rCOMSDEP, the Lands Minister intervened, leading to the release of the concession for cooperative mining.

Community members alleged that some influential individuals and local leaders are attempting to sell portions of the concession to private interests, a move they say undermines the purpose for which the land was released.
