NALAG supports deprived schools with exercise books

By Muyid Deen Suleman Kumasi, July 29, GNA – The Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) has received 49,450 exercise books from the National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana (NALAG) for distribution to deprived schools in the region.

Nana Yaw Wiredu, Presiding Member of the Asokwa Municipal Assembly and Ashanti Regional Representative of NALAG, who presented the books on behalf of the Association, said NALAG had resolved at its conference to support education in deprived communities nationwide, recognising education as a key pillar for effective local governance.

The books, received on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, are expected to be distributed through the various Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) as part of NALAG’s efforts to promote and enhance educational opportunities in deprived communities across the Ashanti Region.
