Ghana evacuates over 1,000 nationals from South Africa

Mr Ablakwa commended the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) and the Ghana Red Cross Society for their support during the evacuation exercise, including medical screening, mental health and psychosocial services, meals and other humanitarian assistance.“The Government had to undertake an evacuation exercise using chartered flights,” he said, adding that the operation was coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with Ghana’s High Commission in Pretoria, other Ministries, Departments and Agencies, and international partners.
