IMF Raises Ghana's 2026 Growth Forecast to 5.7% as Inflation Outlook Improves
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has raised Ghana's economic growth forecast for 2026 to 5.7%, up from its earlier projection of 4.6%, signalling an improved outlook for the country's economy. In its October 2026 World Economic Outlook, the Fund also lowered its year-end inflation forecast for Ghana to 4.8%, down from the previous estimate of 7.9%. The revised growth projection exceeds the government's 4.8% target for 2026. The IMF attributes the improved outlook to fiscal consolidation, targeted government spending and strong commodity export earnings, particularly from gold. However, the Fund expects economic growth to moderate to 5.2% in 2027 and has highlighted the need for Ghana to diversify its export earnings and manage economic risks. #NewsDesk
