Finance Minister leads Ghana to IMF, World Bank meetings in Bangkok
The Minister of Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, is leading Ghana’s delegation to the 2026 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group in Bangkok, Thailand, as the country prepares to turn economic stabilisation into sustained transformation.
For Ghana, it comes ahead of the 2027 Budget and Economic Statement to be presented to Parliament in November this year, in which Dr Forson is expected to unveil the New Economy programme, the government’s blueprint for the country’s next phase of economic development.
Scheduled for October 12–18, 2026, the meetings will bring together finance ministers, central bank governors, including the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Johnson Pandit Asiama and senior officials from around the world to tackle the most pressing challenges facing the global economy.
