Obuasi SHTS Sexual Abuse Allegations: Student Safety Under Scrutiny | Matters Arising

Allegations of sexual misconduct at Obuasi Senior High Technical School have sparked public outrage, student unrest and renewed calls for accountability in Ghana’s education sector. The school’s headmaster, Zakaria Abdulai, has been interdicted pending investigations, following a directive from Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu for his suspension and a police probe. The school remains temporarily closed as authorities work to determine when it will be safe to resume academic activities. The controversy has also raised concerns about alleged delays in addressing complaints, protecting students, and the impact of the closure on their education. #ObuasiSHTS #GhanaEducation #JoyNews # Matters Arising
