Volta Regional Security Council demands equitable teacher distribution

Council members pose for a photo after the meeting The Volta Regional Security Council (VRSC) has passed a resolution to ensure equitable distribution of teachers in the region to improve quality teaching and learning.

Addressing the meeting, Mr Gunu, who also doubles as the Chairman of the VRSC, said the council regarded education as key to growth, and appealed to retired and experienced teachers to take up responsibilities in the empty classrooms in the region.

The council underscored the need for the GES to ensure that posting of teachers was done at the District Education offices to satisfy the teacher needs in the remote areas instead of allowing postings to be done from the Regional Education office.
