Narawa Company Limited demands immediate intervention over armed takeover and alleged illegal mining on Fanteakwa concession

Narawa Company Limited has issued an urgent public appeal to Ghanaian law enforcement and state security agencies, calling for immediate intervention to end what it describes as an ongoing armed occupation of its primary mining concession in the Fanteakwa District.
Doris Attoh, the company petitioned the Ghana Police Service, the Ghana Armed Forces, the Minerals Commission, and the National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS) to restore state authority, protect lives, and remove unauthorized operators from the site.
Field assessments cited by the company indicate that approximately 13 groups, including foreign nationals, are conducting illegal mining (galamsey) operations on the concession in breach of Section 70 of the Minerals and Mining Act, 2006 (Act 703).
