Minority fires back at Sammy Gyamfi over 'extortionist' allegation against Afenyo-Markin

In a statement dated August 22, 2026, and signed by Deputy Minority Leader Patricia Appiagyei, the caucus said Sammy Gyamfi made a series of public statements between August 17 and 22, 2026, in response to questions raised by the Minority regarding the financial position of GoldBod and the Bank of Ghana’s Domestic Gold Purchase Programme, which GoldBod administers.“Accordingly, we call on GoldBod to appear before a Parliamentary Inquiry to account fully for the losses identified in the IMF's report and to reconcile them with its own audited financial statements, so that the public record can be settled by facts, tested under parliamentary scrutiny, rather than by accusation on either side,” the statement added.
