Look beyond government securities, GVCA tells pension funds

The discussions come at a time when Ghana is seeking to mobilize more domestic capital to support private sector growth and reduce pressure on traditional sources of financing; building upon the Association’s landmark 2025 Pension and Insurance Industry Compact designed to drive alternative asset allocations by institutional investors up from 1 per cent to 5 per cent.
Among the participating industry representatives were professionals from Savannah Impact Advisory (Ci Gaba Fund of Funds), Zinari Capital, Origen Private Debt Fund, CardinalStone Capital Advisers and InvestCorp, who shared perspectives on their investment track record, emerging opportunities, business expansion case studies and the role of domestic institutional capital in Ghana’s private sector.
The development is prompting renewed engagement between pension funds, private equity firms, venture capital managers and other players in the markets and investment industry, with stakeholders highlighting the potential of private capital to support growth-stage businesses, create salaried jobs and deepen economic growth.
