Interior Ministry urges strict enforcement of Armoured Bullion Vehicle standards in Ghana

The Deputy Minister also called for stronger collaboration among the Customs Division, the Ghana Police Service, the Bank of Ghana and other relevant institutions, particularly on vehicle certification, roadworthiness, technical standards and security requirements.

The one-day sensitisation workshop forms part of efforts to strengthen regulatory oversight of Armoured Bullion Vehicles and ensure effective implementation of standards governing their importation, retrofitting, use and decommissioning in Ghana.

For his part, the Deputy Commissioner for Post Clearance Audit at the GRA Customs Division, Alphonse Qauinoo, said Customs could not operate in isolation when dealing with issues involving technical standards, security, vehicle certification and roadworthiness.
