How NHIA forced hospital to refund over GH¢300,000 following illegal charges

The Akim Oda Government Hospital The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has sanctioned the management of the Akim Oda Government Hospital following findings of fraud and service abuse uncovered during an extensive audit.

Abdul Karim Naatogmah further revealed that persistent extortions and illegal charges had eroded public trust in the National Health Insurance Scheme, leading to reduced membership renewals and discouraging new enrolments."Persistent extortions and illegal charges at the credentialed hospitals severely reduced public trust in the NHIS, driving down membership renewals and discouraging new enrolments," he said.
