GIS cracks down on cyber fraud, trafficking syndicates
Photo of some rescued victims The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has rescued 85 human trafficking victims and detained 110 foreign nationals following two separate intelligence-led raids, targeting organised crime rings in Greater Accra.
The operations, which took place last weekend, dismantled a major cyber fraud syndicate operating out of Dawhenya and disrupted a commercial sex work ring in Ashaiman.
A further 17 foreign nationals were detained on suspicion of running the cyber fraud syndicate and residing in Ghana illegally.
