Mr Gyamfi, however, has rejected the Minority Leader’s allegations, insisting that GoldBod’s audited financial statements for 2025 show an operational surplus of GH¢907 million and an overall surplus of GH¢5.

Mr Gyamfi’s comments form part of an escalating political dispute with Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin over GoldBod’s finances and operations.

Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), Sammy Gyamfi, has described persons behind what he considers sustained attacks on the institution as “devious extortionists and political mercenaries”.
