Wontumi-Exim Bank Fraud Case: Court proceedings to continue after prosecution files amended charges

The high-profile Exim Bank case involving Chairman Wontumi is set to continue at the Accra High Court following the prosecution's filing of an amended charge sheet. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, and other accused persons face allegations including defrauding by false pretences, uttering forged documents, money laundering, and causing financial loss to a public body in a case involving an alleged GH¢30 million loss to Ghana Exim Bank. The amended charge sheet reportedly specifies the company whose pro forma invoice was allegedly forged. Meanwhile, Wontumi and Wontumi Farms have separately asked the High Court to declare the loan dispute a civil matter rather than a criminal case. #NewsDesk
