GAUA Strike: Fair Wages Commission accuses university administrators of breaching MoU | News Desk

The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) has questioned why the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA) is continuing its strike after signing a memorandum of understanding with the Commission. FWSC Chief Executive Officer Dr George Smith-Graham says negotiations with GAUA have been concluded and agreed payments made, while the MoU provides time for the Commission to examine fresh proposals on salary disparities. GAUA, however, maintains that concerns over remuneration, fairness and conditions of service remain unresolved. The ongoing strike has disrupted administrative activities at public universities. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education has invited GAUA and the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) to urgent talks to find a resolution. #NewsDesk
