Young Ghanaians need markets and opportunities to turn skills into Jobs – Youth Advocates.       

Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Fertilizer Limited, Nana Kusi Appiah, and founder of Youth in Transformative Development Africa (YIDA), Christabel Odonkor, say young people across different backgrounds share a common aspiration – to be given the opportunity to contribute, grow their businesses and create jobs.

As International Youth Day 2026 draws attention to the different circumstances in which young people live, the advocates say the common aspiration remains clear – young people want the opportunity to learn, work, build, contribute and create better futures for themselves and others.

Together, their experiences point to a central challenge in Ghana’s youth development agenda: ensuring that investments in young people translate into real opportunities to work, build businesses, lead and create jobs.
