Speaking to media personality Roselyn Feli, Mustapha Gbande stated that allowing an open internal election to select the party’s presidential candidate for the 2028 election could potentially create divisions within the NDC and eventually lead to its collapse.

According to the Deputy General Secretary, the NDC should rather consider allowing its Council of Elders to select a candidate and honour the person they believe deserves the opportunity to lead the party into the 2028 general election.
