Underfire Infantino hit with major blow as Gibraltar FA withdraws support ahead of 2027 FIFA election

Gibraltar FA has withdrawn its support for Gianni Infantino’s 2027 FIFA presidential bid, citing concerns over FIFA governance, transparency and the Forward Enterprise proposal.

The Gibraltar FA also pointed to the departure of FIFA Chief Operating Officer Kevin Lamour, whose employment with FIFA ended on August 17, just weeks after he publicly criticised the FFE proposal as part of reasons it decided to withdraw its support.

Gianni Infantino has suffered another setback in his bid for a fourth term as FIFA president after the Gibraltar Football Association (GFA) withdrew its support for his 2027 re-election campaign.
