Tema Traditional Council calls for measures against prostitution, teenage pregnancy

The acting President of the Tema Traditional Council (TTC), Nii Adjetey Agbo II, has expressed concern over rising cases of prostitution and teenage pregnancy in the Tema Metropolis, particularly at Tema Manhean, and called for pragmatic and coordinated measures to address the challenges.

Nii Agbo II said the situation was particularly worrying among young people and required urgent attention from traditional authorities, the Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA), the police, parents, schools and other stakeholders.

Nii Agbo II said the rising cases of teenage pregnancy could disrupt the education and prospects of young girls, while prostitution and related social vices could expose young people to exploitation, abuse and other dangers.
