Shatta Wale claims government owes him GH¢5m for Black Stars World Cup campaign

Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has accused government officials of failing to pay him about GH¢5 million for promotional activities he says he carried out ahead of the Black Stars’ 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign.

Shatta Wale stressed that the alleged GH¢5 million debt is separate from the US$100,000 contribution he and his Hotwav team reportedly made towards the Black Stars’ World Cup fundraising efforts.

The musician, however, clarified that the reported contribution was separate from the GH¢5 million he claims he is owed for promotional work undertaken as part of the World Cup campaign.
