Rights group urges FIFA to block Gianni Infantino re-election bid over term limits

FairSquare has urged FIFA to rule Gianni Infantino ineligible for re-election, arguing he has already served the maximum three presidential terms.

Human rights organisation FairSquare has called on FIFA to rule President Gianni Infantino ineligible to seek another term, arguing that he has already served the maximum three terms allowed under FIFA’s statutes.“The rules state clearly that three presidential terms is the maximum allowed; FIFA can’t simply circumvent this rule – which serves as a check on presidential power – by saying that his first term doesn’t count.”
