Police interdict officer over alleged unauthorised demolition

On Aug 27, 2026 ‎The Ghana Police Administration has interdicted Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Alhassan Malaika Jibril over his involvement in a demolition exercise at the Accra Race Course at Borteyman on Saturday, August 22, 2026.‎ ‎A statement issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Director-General of the Police Public Affairs Directorate, and copied to the Ghana News Agency, said the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) were investigating the matter.‎ ‎The interdiction is to facilitate investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident, the Police Administration said.
