Managing Director on GH¢150,000 bail over five dud cheques

An Accra Circuit Court has granted the Managing Director of Ali PVT Ghana Limited, Saif Ahamad, bail of GH¢150,000 with two sureties for allegedly issuing five dud cheques valued at GH¢600,000.

Police Chief Inspector Daniel Appiah Ofori, who held brief for Deputy Superintendent of Police Kesse, told the Court that the complainant, Yahaya Umar Mohammed, was a Sales Manager of Parthagyl Ghana Limited, a company engaged in the supply of rice products.

Subsequently, Ahamad, acting on behalf of Ali PVT Ghana Limited, issued five cheques numbered 000189, 000190, 000191, 000192 and 000193 to the complainant in settlement of the debt.
