‘Life is fragile, service is sacred’ – Mahama reflects on helicopter crash victims one year on

Speaking at the National Inter-Faith Memorial Service held in honour of the departed eight on August 6, President Mahama said the occasion was not only a moment to mourn but also an opportunity to give meaning to the lives they lived and the sacrifices they made.

The President recalled that one year earlier, Ghana woke up to the devastating news of the helicopter accident that claimed eight precious lives while they were on national duty.

President John Dramani Mahama has described the loss of the eight Ghanaian servicemen who died in a helicopter crash as a painful reminder that life is fragile, service to the nation is sacred and tomorrow is never guaranteed.
