GRIDCo engineers working to restore power after widespread outage

A statement issued by GRIDCo said the outage was due to a major fault that occurred on the Akosombo–Volta transmission line of the national power system, resulting in the loss of power supply to some parts of the country.“Immediately following the incident, GRIDCo engineers, working in close coordination with other powersector agencies, took steps to isolate the affected transmission line and commenced the safe andsystematic restoration of the power system”, it said.“GRIDCo regrets the inconvenience caused by this temporary outage and assures the general publicthat all relevant technical teams have been fully mobilised and are working with urgency to achievecomplete restoration of the power system,” it added.
