Gov’t commissions new Minerals Commission office in Kumasi to strengthen mining regulation

Mr Sulemana said the Minerals Commission plays a critical role in the mining sector, including regulating and managing mineral resources, administering mineral rights, monitoring mining operations, collecting data, advising on policy and enforcing government regulations.

He noted that the establishment of the Minerals Commission’s Kumasi office was intended to bring sustainable mineral management, policy enforcement and licensing closer to mining operations and stakeholders in the middle belt.

The government has commissioned a new office complex for the Minerals Commission in Kumasi as part of efforts to strengthen Ghana’s mining regulatory institutions and improve service delivery in the sector.
