Government declares 2-day national clean-up exercise in 7 regions after deadly floods The 48 Engineers Regiment of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has launched Flood Rescue and Evacuation Operations, code named “OPERATION BOAFO” across several communities in the Greater Accra Region on Monday, 29 June 2026.

President John Dramani Mahama has declared Friday, July 10 and Saturday, July 11, 2026, as National General Cleaning Days in the seven (7) regions affected by the recent floods.

The directive, announced by the Presidency on Monday, forms part of government's post-flood recovery efforts under the auspices of the Post-Flood Mitigation Committee.
