GMTF, Sweden Ghana Medical Centre sign MoU to improve access to cancer care

GNA – Ghana Medical Trust Fund (GMTF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Sweden Ghana Medical Centre to strengthen access to specialised healthcare, particularly cancer diagnosis and treatment, for eligible Ghanaians living with chronic non-communicable diseases.

According to her, the Sweden Ghana Medical Centre was selected as a key partner because of its specialised services, particularly in cancer care, including radiotherapy and PET Scan services, which are critical for the diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of cancer patients.

Darko-Opoku explained that while the mandate of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund included providing financial support to eligible Ghanaians living with chronic non-communicable diseases, the ultimate objective was to ensure that beneficiaries could actually access the specialised care they needed.
