Ghana to establish pharmaceutical industrial park to boost local production

The project, being developed under the government’s 24-Hour Economy initiative, is expected to provide an integrated ecosystem for pharmaceutical manufacturing, medical device production, herbal medicine, research and development, and related industries.

Ghana is set to establish a pharmaceutical industrial park to attract local and international manufacturers and strengthen domestic production of medicines, medical devices and other health-related products.

Ms Kafui Linda Abbah-Foli, Head of Project Development, 24-Hour Economy, disclosed this at the opening of the 2026 China-West Africa Medical and Health Industry Expo and AI Deployment and Project Cooperation Summit in Accra.
