‘Eat humble pie’ – Afenyo-Markin challenges NDC over GH¢22bn GoldBod losses

Minority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has challenged the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) to acknowledge what he describes as policy failures that contributed to the reported GH¢22 billion losses under the Domestic Gold Purchase Programme (DGPP) in 2025.

Speaking to Metro TV, he said the NDC should “eat humble pie” and acknowledge the policy shortcomings behind the reported losses so that the two sides could focus on finding a solution.

Mr Afenyo-Markin said the Minority’s concerns about the reported losses were based on facts and should not be dismissed as an attempt to undermine the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod).
