Earning Money on X Is Changing This Month: Here’s What You Need to Know

Some content will not qualify for payment X says content may be excluded from rewards if it: Is copied or substantially reproduced from another creator Is downloaded from X or another platform and reuploaded, unless the creator is the original author Is inappropriate, sexually explicit or potentially harmful Focuses exclusively on monetization coaching or maximizing payouts Is created or posted through automated means Contains disinformation or misleading information Has a helpful Community Note Violates X’s Community Guidelines, Terms of Service or Copyright Policy X also says it will periodically review accounts participating in the program.

Starting August 7, 2026, X will stop accepting new applications for its Creator Revenue Sharing program and begin transitioning creators to a new Original Content Rewards Program, designed to reward users who consistently produce original, high-quality content.

They must: Be at least 18 years old Live in a country where the program is available Have a Personal or Business account Have an account in good standing Maintain an active X Premium, Premium+ or Premium Business subscription Have at least 500,000 Home Timeline impressions from verified users within the previous 90 days Have at least 500 verified followers Actively post original content Political and government organization accounts are not eligible.
