Driver jailed 15 years for conspiring to rob former madam

The prosecution, led by DSP Emmanuel Nyamekye, told the court that Agambaa and his accomplices attacked Madam Grace Belkis Azure at her residence at Zaare in Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region on June 12, 2022, and made away with an unspecified amount of money.

The prosecution said the Ghana Police Service, through the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), had earlier commenced surveillance and intelligence-led operations in response to an increase in armed robbery and the proliferation of illicit firearms within the Bolgatanga Metropolis and adjoining communities.

The prosecution said the perceived grievances subsequently became the motive for Agambaa and his accomplices to allegedly conspire to rob Madam Azure on several occasions.
