Dome-Kwabenya-Kitase road stakeholders renew call for urgent action

One week after a peaceful demonstration over the deplorable condition of the Dome-Kwabenya-Kitase Road, affected communities are calling for urgent engagement with authorities to address the challenges surrounding the completion of the road.

The demonstration followed earlier attempts by representatives of the affected communities to engage relevant authorities over the resumption and completion of the road, including engagements in July 2025 with the Ghana Highways Authority, the Ministry of Roads and Highways, the Ministry of Finance and other stakeholders.

The communities are now seeking further dialogue with government agencies, road authorities, elected representatives, traditional leaders, assemblies, contractors and other stakeholders to establish the current state of the project, identify the challenges and agree on practical steps towards completing the road.
