Austin Woode calls for government to bring Ghana Music Awards organisers abroad under one umbrella

Media personality and entertainment critic Austin Woode has called on the government to bring organisers of Ghana Music Awards schemes across the diaspora under a coordinated framework to help promote Ghanaian music globally.

Speaking on Starr Showbiz with Feeling Daddy on Starr FM on Saturday, August 15, 2026, Mr Woode said the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, together with the Office of the President’s Diaspora Affairs, should consider bringing organisers of Ghana Music Awards UK, Ghana Music Awards Europe, Ghana Music Awards USA and similar initiatives under one umbrella.

He said similar initiatives by diaspora-based awards organisers could help create a more measurable impact on the Ghanaian music industry.
