President Mahama rallies Africa ahead AU Extraordinary Health Summit in Accra

The two-day summit, officially titled the Extraordinary Session of the African Union Assembly on Ending AIDS by 2030 and Addressing Preventable Maternal Deaths, Communicable and Non-Communicable Diseases Endemic to the Continent, and Strengthening Health Systems by 2030, will also focus on reducing preventable maternal deaths, tackling communicable and non-communicable diseases and strengthening Africa's health systems over the next decade.

John Dramani Mahama is the President of Ghana Ghana is set to host the first African Union (AU) Extraordinary Health Summit on July 21 and 22, 2026, in Accra, bringing together African Heads of State and Government to adopt a fully costed continental roadmap aimed at ending AIDS and tuberculosis by 2030."It will be my distinct honour to welcome you all to the beautiful city of Accra for the African Union Extraordinary Summit on Health, " he said.
