Police Ladies crowned maiden Women’s KGL Democracy Cup champions

In a fiercely contested final, the Police Ladies created numerous chances in the first half but struggled to find the breakthrough, leaving the game deadlocked for much of the opening period.

In the curtain-raiser, Judicial Service defeated Parliament Ladies on penalties in a symbolic exhibition match designed to celebrate unity, gender inclusion and the growing role of women in national development through The event attracted several high-profile dignitaries, including the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Bernard Ahiafor; the Clerk to Parliament, Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror; the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Ocloo; and other distinguished guests.

The closing stages turned into an end-to-end contest, but Police Ladies held firm to secure the victory and make history as the first team to lift the Women's Democracy Cup trophy.
