Lands and Mines Watch backs revocation of Adamus mining leases over regulatory breaches

Lands and Mines Watch Ghana (LMWG) has welcomed the final determination upholding the revocation of three mining leases held by Adamus Resources Limited, citing multiple regulatory breaches and significant outstanding financial obligations.

The Eastern Nzema Traditional Council previously commended President John Dramani Mahama and the Lands and Natural Resources Minister for the decision, with Paramount Chief Awulae Blay IX saying mining activities on the Adamus concessions had caused long-standing harm to local communities and the environment.

The Minister initially revoked the three leases in April 2026 after investigations by the Minerals Commission found that Adamus had allegedly undertaken mining activities in breach of the Minerals and Mining Act, 2006 (Act 703), and related regulations.
