Kwahumanhene celebrates Akwasidae

On May 5, 2025, Daasebre Akuamoah Agyepong II filed a motion for an interlocutory injunction at the Judicial Committee of the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs to restrain Baffuor Akoto Osei from holding himself out as Kwahuhene.

In June 2025, the Judicial Committee granted an interlocutory injunction restraining Baffuor Akoto Osei and six others from interfering with the functions and authority of Daasebre Akuamoah Agyepong II pending the final determination of the substantive case of the purported destoolment.

On November 17, 2025 the police carried out an operation to enforce the Judicial Committee ruling, restoring access of Daasebre Akuamoah Agyepong II to the palace.
