Asuogyaman gets first DVLA office as MP sponsors licences for 500 drivers and riders

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) in Partnership with the Member of Parliament and Deputy Minister of Finance Thomas Nyarko Ampem has commissioned first ever DVLA Office in Asuogyaman District in the Eastern Region as part of efforts to decentralise its services and bring vehicle registration and driver licensing services closer to Ghanaians.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Deputy Minister of Finance Thomas Nyarko Amepm said the new DVLA office has ended struggles car owners,drivers and riders go through travelling long distance to other Districts and nearby regions to access vehicle registeration, license acquisition and renewal services.

The Transport Minister Joseph Bukari Nikpe said the decentralisation of DVLA office is aimed at improving road safety through driver education and professional training, amid concerns over road crashes and indiscipline on Ghana’s roads.
