President of Gabon, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, has commended Ghana's ongoing reforms in the mining sector, describing them as a significant step towards improving transparency, strengthening governance and ensuring greater value addition from the country's natural resources.

President Nguema's remarks came on the second day of his official to Ghana, during which he held bilateral talks with President John Dramani Mahama aimed at deepening cooperation between the two countries in areas including trade, investment, natural resource governance, climate action and regional security.

The two leaders are expected to continue discussions on strengthening economic cooperation and promoting sustainable development initiatives that will benefit both Ghana and Gabon.
