Court of Appeal judgment exposes flaws in corruption prosecutions – Prof Gyampo

Professor Ransford Gyampo, CEO of Ghana Shippers Authority (GSA) Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Shippers Authority (GSA), Professor Ransford Gyampo, has called for an end to what he describes as "prosecutorial incompetence," warning that weak prosecution is undermining Ghana's efforts to combat corruption.

In a Facebook post, Professor Gyampo said the recent Court of Appeal judgment acquitting and discharging former MASLOC Chief Executive Officer Sedina Tamakloe exposed significant weaknesses in the country's justice system.

Professor Gyampo argued that Ghana's fight against corruption must be anchored in competent investigations and prosecutions if it is to secure successful convictions.
