Bagbin directs MPs to comply as government bans unauthorised sirens, police escorts

The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has directed Members of Parliament (MPs) to comply fully with a new government directive banning the unauthorised installation and use of sirens and police escort services on both public and private vehicles.

The directive follows a communication from the Minister for the Interior, Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, informing Parliament of a Cabinet decision to intensify enforcement against the indiscriminate use of sirens and police escorts by unauthorised persons.

Speaker Bagbin urged Members of Parliament to fully cooperate with the new measures, emphasising that compliance would reinforce public confidence in state institutions and promote safer use of the nation's roads.
