Amedzorme admitted taking the child on the instructions of her fiancé who is currently at large The Kpando Circuit Court has sentenced a 31-year-old woman, Stella Amedzorme, to three years' imprisonment for abducting an eight-month-old baby at the Kpando Market in the Volta Region.

According to a Police statement issued on August 5, 2026, the incident occurred on July 17, 2026, when the baby's mother, 21-year-old Gloria Xagbe, entrusted her eight-month-old son to Amedzorme, a fellow market trader, while she briefly went to buy packaging bags."The Police successfully rescued the eight-month-old child unharmed, while efforts are ongoing to arrest the convict's fiancé to assist investigations," the statement added.
