"Our legal system allows for appeal, so Chairman Wontumi and his legal team are welcome to appeal at the Supreme Court where the decision would be final," she said.

She further stated that Chairman Wontumi and his legal team have the right to pursue an appeal, as provided under Ghana's legal system, but stressed that the court's decision must be respected.

If they want to back somebody who the court has found guilty of destroying our forest reserves and poisoning our water bodies, so be it," she stated.
