Kenneth Ashigbey is the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Chamber of Mines Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Chamber of Mines, Ken Ashigbey, has insisted that members of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) will not be shielded from prosecution if they are found guilty of engaging in illegal mining or related offences.

Speaking on Asempa FM's Ekosiisen on July 20, 2026, Ashigbey stressed that the fight against illegal mining must be applied fairly and without political bias if Ghana is to restore sanity to the sector.

Watch Deputy Attorney General's reaction after Wontumi sentencing Ashigbey argued that the prosecution of individuals involved in illegal mining should not be selective, saying the law must apply equally to all persons regardless of their political affiliation.
